Coffee table, Magnussen Ponte, 1970-1980

Oval coffee table with two asymmetrical tiers by Magnussen Ponte, dating from the 1970s-80s. The tabletop, covered in mactan stone, is constructed from a wooden frame, making it lighter than it appears. Mactan stone, also known as fossil stone, is found only on Mactan Island in the Philippines. This ancient rock contains fossils of prehistoric creatures that once inhabited the reefs. In very good condition, despite some signs of age.
