Round coffee table in glass and stone, 1970s

Round coffee table with a beveled glass top and a Mactan stone base in the style of Magnussen Ponte from the 1970s-80s. The base consists of a conical section surrounded by four pinkish stone spheres. The wooden frame, encased in reconstituted stone, makes it appear much lighter than it actually is. Mactan stone, also known as fossil stone, is found only on Mactan Island in the Philippines. This ancient rock contains fossils of prehistoric creatures that once inhabited the reefs. In very good condition, despite some signs of age.
